WILLIAM GEORGE (BILL) MCTAGGART

Bill McTaggart passed away at Rochon Sands, AB on August 28, 2024 at the age of 69.

Bill was predeceased by his parents George and Lorna McTaggart.
Born in Lacombe, Alberta, Bill and his sisters were raised in Stettler with a succession of Labrador retrievers, named Buster or Roger. Bill and Cathy were married in 1976 while he was studying at the University of Calgary, where he graduated with a BA in business and political science. Following graduation, Bill, after serious thought, decided that instead of Law he would go the route of the financial services industry and began working for London Life. In 1980, Bill and Cathy decided they had enough of big city living and moved to Red Deer. In 1987, Bill began work with Integrated Financial Services in Red Deer where he remained until January of 2024. Bill thoroughly enjoyed his clients and was honored to do the very best he could for them. Bill was also a proud Rotarian, joining the Red Deer Rotary Club in March of 1986 and serving as president in 1998. He was also a multiple donor to the Rotary International Foundation (Paul Harris Fellowship).
Bill was very handy at fixing and building and “MacGyvering” things. He was also an avid hunter, and enjoyed going out with his buddies, bringing home anything from ducks, geese and pheasants, to deer, antelope and moose. Bill also really enjoyed fine cuisine and prepared his share of wonderful homemade meals. He was also an expert at carving a roast or turkey or ham; it was like a work of art when he finished. Bill also enjoyed lake and ocean fishing over the years and had wonderful memories from those trips.
