I was just thinking of my fav gal Gene and just wanted to share some things with her loved ones. I briefly worked at Regency Park where I got to know this lovely woman very well last fall/winter. She told me all about her life, her children, she told me so many stories about being a teacher, I spoke about her so much that my daughter would draw pictures for her that I would bring to work and she would hold them in her hands all day long and look at them throughout the day. I connected deeply with her as she reminded me so much of my late Grandmother. When she was having an off day I was often the one who could get her chipper again. She loved sitting by me at the front and giving compliments to everyone that would walk through the front doors. She spoke so very highly of her children, I have heard all sorts of stories when they were little. I learned so much from her in a short period of time and think about her almost daily. I kept a work journal and Genie Blum was always the highlight of my day. Although I am saddened to hear of her passing, I know she is at peace. God bless her and all who loved this magnificent lady. I will miss Genevieve so much! Her huge welcoming smile and “Hi Jan!!” Her wisdom, her presence in Bible Study on Tuesday mornings. Her enjoyment of music at concerts or at church. She made me smile big! Jesus was central and she enriched us all because if it.

I was so fortunate to have gotten to know Genevieve a bit over the last few years when she visited her daughter Tara and family in Oklahoma. I am a Wiese also but a different branch, and was excited to meet such a wonderful part of my extended family. She was a kind and genuine friend from the first hello and made me very proud to be in her family's large circle. I will miss her inner joy that I felt everytime I was with her.

To the Blume family Desi, George and family So sorry for the loss of your Mom. It is a sad time for the family when one's mother passes away. We hope that you receive comfort and ease from the kind words expressed to you at this time. She was such a pleasant person and she made us feel welcome when we visited Castor. I was so sorry to hear of Genevieve's passing today. She was just the best Aunt that Gladys ever had. Gladys enjoyed the trips that they took together very much. As Walter said, they are likely shopping together rite now.

Walter and family, I send my deepest hearfelt sympathy to you for your loss. What a beautiful lady Genevieve was! I did some typing for her when I was still in Castor and enjoyed her stories so much. And I enjoyed getting to know her and Walter and Crystal better through CrossRoads Church. Crystal, I have thought of you often and hope we can have a coffee one day after a service at CrossRoads. Genevieve always had time for a visit and always always had a kind word. She will be dearly missed by her communities here in Red Deer and back in Castor. It is sad that she is gone but as Pastor Dan always says, she is more alive than she has ever been before. I'm so excited for her to be with Jesus! God bless you all. Donna Renschler
