We got to know Verleen when she began attending the SDA church in the Merna area. She always sat across from us and was so friendly and easy to visit with. She was always dressed so fashionably. We enjoyed visiting with her at our frequent pot luck lunches after our church service. She really enjoyed the variety of vegetarian entrees at our lunches. She was a wonderful church member and our hearts go out to all of her Spady family members that she was so proud of. We know that she was a tremendous blessing to all of you. The tributes at her celebration of life spoke volumes about the kind caring wife, mother and grandmother that she was. Her memories will live on until you meet again! Don and Ruth Ball

I have many good memories of time spent with Verleen. My father Keith Hooke was very close to his cousin Harold Spady and of course also to Verleen. Verleen was always so welcoming to all of us, even though we were a crowd: Keith, Margaret and the 6 Hooke kids! I have so many good memories of going to the ranch and watching Harold with the racehorses and attempting to ride a horse myself. Definitely a city girl, I enjoyed having the chance to stay with the Spadys for a few overnight visits. I loved spending time with Verleen who I always thought was so beautiful, talented and kind. She made me feel so welcome. I will treasure my memories of her and I would like to express our deepest condolences to Jack, Travis, Brian and all the rest of the Spady clan.

Verleen was a classy lady. Her home was always beautiful and welcoming. Verleen was an accomplished rancher and racer. She was the matriarch of one of the best families. Verleen will be missed by so many. Rest in peace beautiful lady.
