I would like to be permitted to send my condolences to Donita. Having grown up on a Big Valley farm I follow Stettler and Big Valley agriculture news and I was shocked to see this post a few days ago. I hope this post is still monitored.

I didn’t know Doug but I knew Donita when we were young and in school. This news is heartbreaking. The video/ slideshow shows Doug as a fantastic fellow. Donita, I’m so sorry to see this. Sincere condolences.

Our world just lost a fine fellow indeed! Doug was a kind and gentle soul, easy to like and be around. A hard-working and pleasant guy who always had a ready smile whenever you’d meet him. Just wanted to drop a note to say that I always felt true warmth and genuinely welcomed by "Uncle Doug" whenever we interacted. Really thinking about Donita, Kevin and Crystal (and families, of course) at this time. Having been through this type of thing myself, I know the tremendous loss felt in these early days. That said, in time, those painful memories will be less so, and with enough time, they will eventually bring you real joy.
