When I think of Net, I think of coffee, cards, and great treats. When I was married and came back home from tripping around Canada, the first thing I did was call and get her lazy daily cake and carrot cake recipes. She was one of the great examples of humanity that I looked up to when growing up. She was fun, quick thinking, and I will not forget her ever present giggle. She and uncle Roy made my place in the world a whole lot better. Of course, Linda, Ron, Jocelyn and Shelly were wonderful important parts in my growing up years as the neighbor kids. I treasure that family. She was the very last of that generation in the Ripley District and we were so blessed she was around this long. She lived a long and very productive life and I will forever miss her knowing that her place amongst us is no more. Rest in peace dear one.

Sincere Sympathy and Condolences to all the Family of Netta Barritt.
School Days at Mirror with the children of Netta and staying with Linda out on the family farm. I always loved her baking, she was a great lady and a great cook. Linda knows my feelings about her moms baking for sure. Losing our mothers is one of the hardest things to go through. I'm sorry for the loss of you Mother, but now she can rest in Peace and no more Suffering.
Those we love Never Leave Us for we all have so many Memories which we have in our Hearts Forever.
God Bless you All at This Time.
Cheryl Bennett Carr & Mike.

Our Pet Auntie Net! Such was the nickname I attributed to Auntie Net 55 years ago when I first met her. It was always such a joy to be greeted by her whether it was at the Ripley Ladies Club meetings or social events where all of us enjoyed her Laxy Daisy Cake! She leaves her legacy of quick laughter in the quick laughter of all her children. The coffee was always on and she always had many stories to tell, Although I have not seen her for many years I will always cherish the way she welcomed me to the Ripley community,
Sincerest sympathy to all.

When I think of Auntie Net I immediately think of Lazy Daisy Cake! As a kid, I remember going to her place for Halloween, and I continued the tradition by taking my kids there and she always wanted a photo. Speaking of photos, Auntie Net loved her scrapbooking hobby. I was excited to see her progress on the “Barritt history” scrapbook. Her hours upon hours of compiling that book were appreciated and I loved to hear her tell stories of the past relatives. She and I went to a scrapbooking retreat at Morris Meadows 16 or so years ago, we were roommates and I remember this vividly because I was, ever so nicely, reminded that I "snore"...!!
When she moved into Paragon Place, where my grandma was, I had gotten to have many mini visits with her at mealtime. Afterward, sometimes she would stop by my Grandmas room and share her memories of when she arrived up here in the Ripley District as a young teacher to teach at Ripley School. Auntie Net loved to tell the story of the first time when she drove in my Grandpa Glen’s yard and saw my Dad – Bill for the first time. He was about 2 and she would describe his excited 2 year old reaction to her in detail and I can tell he made quite the impression on her!
Our family and community was fortunate to have had our friendly, funny, beautiful, and classy Auntie Net be a part of it.
