I had the honour of working with Jim through the central zone Spiritual Care team. Jim was a man of strong faith who displayed such integrity, compassion and empathy to those patients and families he served. His gift of humour was also a trait that our team truly appreciated. I will always cherish the memories of such an amazing man. Heartfelt sympathy goes out to Jim’s family.

We were so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. We had such a great respect for him as he loved people so well and always wanted them to know of the hope that he had. He was able to win people’s hearts and let them know he was for them.
As a fellow pastor, Jim brought much encouragement to us in the brief time we knew him.
I’m sure he will hear our Father say, “Well done my good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”

We have lost a great choir director and a beautiful voice in the Christian community. I can think back to the Christmas musicals Jim had arranged and lead so wondrously. My years under his musical leadership have keep me still singing even after so many years. You will be truly missed. My deepest sympathy to your family that's left behind.

I'm deeply saddened by the passing of Pastor Jim Culham in this season. Pastor JC was a man of tremendous courage no matter what he was faced with, he was a man that new who he was and whos he was. He was a man of utmost integrity and credibility who always made sure he was in right standing with the Lord Jesus, in his decision making. I first met Pastor JC in 1990 at the then Woodlea Pentecostal Church with his beautiful wife Shirley, and we became close friends as the years went by. I was know as "the other kid" by Pastor JC and his wife Shirley. They both invested in my life in unimaginable ways, they treated me as their own flesh and blood. After Shirley had gone on to be with the Lord, Pastor JC was still there with prayerful support; guidance and wisdom beyond his years as always. Pastor JC was very sound in his counsel and I could trust his advice without a second thought. I remember clearly five years ago when I call him to get his blessing on my marriage proposal ; and he was delighted to do so. Pastor JC you will be a great lost in my life; but I can still hear you say that beautiful phase "I have no fears, For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain" ( Philippians 1:21) Pastor Jim you will be greatly missed, the wisdom which you had been endued with has no doubt been passed unto many including myself; and for that I'm ever grateful. You have left behind a strong Christian heritage and a legacy that can only be adopted. Your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and your intire family along with your church circle salutes you Man of God. Pastor Jim Culham until we meet again my friend!!!!!

During our years pastoring the Castor Evangelical Missionary Church, Jim was a constant source of encouragement and wisdom. His passion for God overflowed into the life of the church and community, even beyond to China, Brazil, etc. Personally, Jim was my "go to" person when I (Grant) needed someone to talk to. The impact of Jim's life and ministry will be measured in heaven when we see just how many hearts turned to Jesus through His testimony and ministry. Having said all the above, Jim dearly missed Shirley, often saying he longed to be with her again. In His time, God heard Jim's heart. Our love and prayers to Rod, Trudy and the extended family. How do I pick a memory of my dear Uncle Jim? How we loved him and his quirky sense of humor, his kind heart, his listening ear, his magic tricks, his love for the Lord and his love for all of us!! We were so lucky to have had him in our lives!
We always looked forward to Aunty Shirley and Uncle Jim's visits to the farm! One year we went tobogganing in the Coulee and Uncle Jim joined us in his dress pants and dress shoes!! His great nieces and nephews were amazed how he could make the two little Dickie birds disappear and come back. Oh, and the quarter disappearing and coming back too!!
Oh, how we will miss you Uncle Jim. But, we know you are with your beautiful wife and others who went before you.
Hugs to all the family. We love you so much too!

I am so sorry to hear about Jim. I first met Jim through my friendship with Trudy, our sons were very good friends in school. My main memories are the many visits at sporting events with our boys and he was always so supportive of them. Since then I have enjoyed Trudy’s family photos and the love and pride for her, her children and the grandchildren was obvious to see. You have been lucky to have such a supportive father and grandfather in your life. I hope all your wonderful memories of him will be a comfort to you, I’m sure they will be in the future. I am pleased your faith is helping you through such a traumatic time for you all. Our condolences to all the family. From Sue and Ken Atkin and family.

Dear Culham family,
Although you won't know who we are, we wanted to tell you how much we appreciated Jim. He was a kind, smart, caring person that many in our area (Halkirk, Castor, Donalda) thought very highly of. We enjoyed his love of music, love for people and love for God which made him a very special person to us all. He will be missed by many here. Please accept our condolences on the loss of such a special family member as Jim was.
Blessings,
Bernie and Bernice Doan, Halkirk, Ab.

I had the honor of working with Jim for the past two years at the Hanna Health care site. His compassion for all was significant in helping my growth in my work. His friendship was a strong foundation for me to grow on. I remember with joy our frequent lunches at the Grey Goose Inn, and Jim's great sense of humor, love for people, but mostly his love for Jesus. I will miss him deeply

Our deepest condolences to you and your family Rod. Your father’s obituary was thoughtful and loving. We never had the pleasure of meeting your father but his story tells us so much about him and your mother. A remarkable couple. The world is a little sadder at their losses but enriched by their lives.

Trudy and Trevor, Rod and Bruce, Family…I didn’t know your dad but I know you, Trudy, and I have observed the love you and your dad shared with each other and which, from what I read, your dad also gave unsparing love to anyone in need. That was/is beautiful and I think that love and the memories made will comfort you and help you through the rest of your lives. Death is inevitable, and each time it happens to someone in my sphere I think of John Donne’s poem, Death Be Not Proud…the gist of which can be summed up in, “…One short sleep past, we wake eternally…death you shall die”.

So sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. I know he is now with Jesus whom he loved and served. And reunited with your mom.
I remember your dad Trudy, from the 80’s when you and I shared an apartment in Edmonton. He was always such a pleasant and fun loving man. I’d always enjoy his visits.
Be assured of our thoughts and prayers during this time. Enjoy your time with Rod and cherish all of your memories.

My father loved everyone. I know that is said about a lot of people and, in my dad's case, it is true. My whole life, I knew him to be a person who reached out to people in need. As a child, I was forever giving up my bed or some of my dinner for someone who needed our help. Up until his death he was looking out for others. I only hope I can be half the caring and loving person that he was.
One of my fondest memories of my father was when I was at an age where it might be regarded as inappropriate for a boy to be holding his father's hand. We were about to cross a busy street in a large city in Brazil. I reached out for my father's hand and he said, "You're getting to old to hold my hand." He looked down at me and I must have appeared hurt. He just said, "I don't care what other people think. I want to hold your hand." He grabbed my hand and we crossed the street.
