We were very saddened to hear the news of Doug's passing. We first met Doug when he and Lori visited us at our newly built log house many many years ago. Doug made a lasting impression then and we always looked forward to the occasions our paths crossed at family gatherings. He was a smart, funny, and a very wise man who accomplished so much in his lifetime. Brian and I send our condolences and our hearts go out to Lori and family.

We have always known Doug but got to know him quit well as he was the Realitor who enabled us to sell our farm in 2005. He was the steady anchor in that very trying time. I (Laurie) had a good laugh when walking him around the place, he told me that I should be the Realitor. He was a wonderful man and considered a good friend and compassionate fellow businessman. We pray for Lori and family as you grieve the loss of Doug. May you feel loved and Blessed with friends to support you. Love from Darryl & Laurie Rachar

Many years ago I first met Doug’s parents. I thought Ted had a special way of talking and telling stories unique only to him. Then I met Doug and was amazed that he was so like his dad. Doug was always a pleasure to discuss matters with. He had a sense of humour that came out so easily. We have been gone from Stettler for ten years and even now we take comfort in the privilege of having known Doug for many years prior to our leaving. Our sincerest condolences to all his family

Talk about one of a kind! A very special, talented man. A remarkably honest man. I didn't see Doug often the last couple of years but you could always count on him for whatever you needed. I will miss Doug's great sense of humor and his great smile and optimism. Always the jar 1/2 full. Let's not panic. Maybe a rum would fix it. I know your family will miss you dearly Doug. Rest in peace.

The Robert's Family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have such fond memories of visiting my Dad with Jason in the summers. Your family was a huge part of it with the many nights playing kick the can while the adults had some beverages. I can remember Doug always having a twinkle in his eye and something funny to say. I am sure Doug and my Dad are having a beverage and a nicely cooked steak in heaven looking after us. I send you a big hug and heart felt condolences. Karlee Kochan
