With Alyssa in dance with Ruth I spent a lot of time with Laura. Some of the best dance comes memories involved Laura Going to seafood night in Camrose watching the girls fill up on crab legs. Teaching them how to get the meat out of the crab. Our trips to the casino at the Best Western were hilarious. She always won while having her Caesar. One of the best was having our dance mom group playing “Cards against Humanity”. I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard in my whole life. Laura was outgoing, helpful and all round amazing to have around. She will be truly missed by all that knew her.

Our Condolences to all of Laura's family. She was a great lady, and a wonderful friend.
Laura's life touched the lives of our family in so many ways during our years in Consort - through church, choir, 4-H leader, music parent and more, always contributing her time and energy to whatever activity was at hand.
It is many years since we moved from Consort and we have kept in touch each Christmas, but I often think of Laura when I am in my potato patch. During most of the 9 years we lived in Consort, she and I enjoyed working together to plant and harvest potatoes and corn in her large garden space to feed our hungry teenagers. Then she would store her potato crop in the super good cold room we had in the church manse. It was a great thrill for our young boys to drive the quad, hauling the corn stalks from the garden to the field for the cattle.
May your memories of the wonderful person Laura was, of the example she set of how to live, along with memories of wonderful times spent with her, give you comfort, joy and healing in this time of sorrow ,

Laura was a big part of my childhood. She taught me to sew and host one heck of a dinner party as part of 4-H creative hands, she was part of every church and community event I volunteered for and encouraged my volunteering. I remember her as a substitute teacher as well. She is one of those people you realize, too late, have been a quiet part of the foundation of who you are as an adult. I hope the Fawcett family can find happiness in knowing she inspired many of us to keep volunteering and be community minded too.

After I married and moved to the consort area Laura was always one to take time and say hello as we seemed to cross paths often at the post office. She was always interested in what my family was doing and loved to joke about teaching my husband when he was young. I will miss her lovely smile and kind heart. Sending prayers for comfort and peace to all her family. She will be missed.

Laura was a HUGE community minded person. She was active in many clubs around Consort, but what has alaways amazed me is her genuine interest in the people of our community. Many times she’d stop to chat with me, and the conversation always lead back to my children and what they were doing. She knew all of their names, their ages, and what activities they participated in! Her genuine love for people, and her kind, caring personality were even dent every time I spoke with her.
My condolences to each and everyone of you. She was a wonderful woman.
