Obituary of Samuel Douglas Martin

Mr. Samuel ‘Douglas’ Martin, formerly of Calgary, passed away on April 25, 2016 at Stettler, Alberta at the age of 84 years. Douglas was a long time member of Rotary International, serving as District Governor and worked his career in management positions in the oilfield industry throughout Alberta. Doug is survived by his daughter Leslie Stevens of Summerland, BC and her daughters Sharena and Linnea; grandson Wesley Martin of Burnaby, BC; sisters Jean Self of Leduc and Bernice (George) Johnson of Roseburg, OR and brother Ross (Kathy) Martin of Stettler; step daughter Bev (Don) Roe and their family of Calgary; other family and friends. At Doug’s request no formal funeral will be held but a Celebration of Life will take place on the Martin farm at a later date to be announced on the website; if you wish memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Rotary International or your choice c/o Stettler Funeral Home, Box 1780, Stettler, AB, T0C 2L0.
