I was looking for information on line about the Oras district, and Eleanor's obituary came up.
I often remember the Lowen and Toews family, as they were our neighbours when I was a little girl. My maiden name was Wright.My home was one mile north of the Lowen family, and Eleanor would often walk to our place and go to town with us. The roads were very bad then.
I also attended Bible school with the Lowen and Toews family, in the summer. Lowens would pick me up with the team and wagon , as well as other children on the way, and drive us to Bible School. I also remember having "real" iced tea at Lowens. and playing with the younger girls who were my age.
Although this letter is late, please accept our condolences in the loss of your loved one.
She and her family left me with pleasant memories of my childhood.
(My husband, Tom and I were guests of Vicky and Randy Reimer this past Christmas at Swallwell, when we attended the Christmas program), at which time I heard of Eleanor's passing.
