Hisey, Evelyn Irene (nee Adamson) passed away after a long battle with cancer on January 20, 2013 in her 88th year. Beloved wife for 67 years of Arnot Samuel Hisey, loving mother of Judy McLeod, David (Rosemary) Hisey, Elizabeth Allen, Grace (Allan) Urry, Lois (Tim) Kratchmer, Catherine (Richard) Wylie. Forever cherished by her 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Evelyn will be sadly missed by her sister Ruth Wright. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy and her brothers Eric, Bernard and Donald. Evelyn was born in Stayner, Ontario on April 17, 1925. Evelyn and Arnot were married at Wasaga Beach on December 5, 1945. After farming in Creemore for 13 years they moved to Wasaga Beach, Ontario, where the children were raised, then moving to Alberta in 1980. One of Evelyn’s greatest passions was painting. Her art became popular, selling much of her work. Evelyn and Arnot’s home presents an array of her artwork. Evelyn had a strong faith in God that began at age 8. She loved to be part of church and community. Evelyn taught Sunday School, was instrumental in starting a Girl Guide troop at Wasaga Beach and in recent years made and sold aprons for missions. She loved to travel and camp. Evelyn and Arnot spent many days on the road between Ontario and British Columbia visiting family and exploring Canada. She will be missed. “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” Abraham Lincoln A funeral service for Mrs. Evelyn Hisey will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Evangelical Missionary Church in Castor, Alberta at 1:00P.M. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Evelyn to World Vision.
