Memories of our times with Evelyn
I was introduced to Evelyn and Arnot at least 22 years ago through a referral by my neighbor Wally, who figured I should be an Amway distributor.
Well, there was an immediate connection and spent many enjoyable evenings at the pot lucks at their home in Winterburn.
I also went out for coffee at least one morning a week when Travis and Michelle were in school and I was working part time. We continued this after Heather came along and by then were firmly entrenched in the growing number of adopted family members.
We started taking the station wagons on yearly journeys to BC, first to visit with my parents for a few days and then we would head off with the tent trailer to Kamloops for the Amway convention. I am sure we made that journey at least 10 years in a row.
I have wonderful memories of Travis, Michelle, Melissa and Sarah all sitting around the big table downstairs in Winterburn, taking painting lessons from Evelyn and of course producing wonderful masterpieces. I have a few of her wonderful paintings and they are all treasures to me.
I don’t think there was ever a person’s birthday that went by without a card being received.
And Evelyn was the only person I know who could make liver & onions taste great!
We have missed having Arnot, Evelyn, Cathy and her family down the street, but our love and friendship will always be close to our hearts.
