Mary Gardelene Walker
June 28, 1961 ~ January 13, 2025
Mary Gardelene Walker, beloved wife of Grant Walker passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospital on January 13, 2025 at the age of 63 years.
Mary was born in Edmonton, Alberta on June 28, 1961 to parents Grant and Gardelene MacPherson. She attended the Stettler Elementary School, Stettler Junior High School and Wm E Hay Composite High Schools. After graduation, Mary worked at the Stettler Hospital in Laundry until 1984, when she elected to stay home to raise her family.
Mary met Grant on a social outing while with friends. Mary and Grant were married on May 3, 1985 together they enjoyed dancing, travelling, and living life to the fullest.
Among Mary’s many hobbies, she particularly liked riding on the Harley with Grant, going on many Sturgis trips, visiting friends and family along the way. They also travelled extensively throughout the USA with Mary being the photographer from the back of the Harley. Vacations to warmer destinations during the winter. Mary also enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard, camping and going to the Legion for the meat draws and visiting with friends, she also loved watching curling. being with the grandchildren, watching Carter tearing up the track at the motorcross races and watching Brielynn bowling, skating and swimming. Mary had several awards for swimming and curling. In later years she even went tubing on New Years Eve at Canyon Ski Hill with the family, where she found out weeks later that she fractured her hip. She never complained, just saying that she only felt a little pain, In the last 4 years Mary endured many health issues, but never let that stop her from participating in the activities that her grandchildren and family were doing. She was always ready for an adventure.
Mary is survived by her loving husband Grant; children: Ian (Kristin) Walker and Tracey Walker; grandchildren: Carter, Brielynn and Kennan; brothers: Delwin (Sandy) MacPherson and Terry (Martha) MacPherson; brothers in law: Keith (Marg) Walker and Glen (Johanne) Walker; sisters in law: Linda Walker, Beverley Chanig, Debra Kornaga, Judy Kornaga and Heather MacPherson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
Predeceasing Mary were her parents Grant and Gardelene MacPherson; parents in law Clarence and Evelyn Walker; brother Calvin MacPherson; brothers in law Kenneth Walker, Dale Walker and Ken Kornaga.
