Connie Marie Peevey

Connie Marie Peevey was born September 3, 1948, in Drumheller, to parents Elva Lorraine (née Stewart) and Albert Peevey.

Her fondest early childhood memories were of living in Drumheller with her Grandma, growing up with her Peevey cousins. Her dad and stepmother Lucille married in the mid-50s, and she moved from Drumheller to live with them and her brother Garth. Not long after, like a sister to her, her cousin Shannon joined their family. By the time Connie was in junior high, the Peevey family called Coronation "home".

Expanding her horizons as a young adult, Connie moved to Vancouver, and her daughter Deneen came into the world. After moving back to Alberta, she met the love of her life, Dean Gosnell, while working as a camp cook. She fit well into the Gosnell family, finding herself at home with brothers-in-law Kim (Heather) and Alan, sister-in-law Jo-Ann, and mother-in-law Joan. She moved on from camp cooking to work in nursing, but always enjoyed camping, tending her garden, spending time with friends and family, and spoiling her "brats" (nephews and nieces Dale, Michelle, Clinton, and Cari-Lynn).

In the 90s, Connie was not only reunited with Deneen, she was also excited to find out that although her mother had passed, she had given her 8 more siblings; Tina (Lyle), Dennis (Debbie), Leslie, Glen, Cal (Sharlene), Mel (Gail), Valerie, and Judy. It wasn't long before Connie found herself immersed in her large family, forming close bonds and enjoying many special times together. She and Dean especially loved when they would all come out to Fenn, bringing their families, to camp at their home.

Connie and Dean spent their last years together in Fenn, taking care of pups and cats and birds, working their garden, and watching the train go by. Connie loved her community, especially Fenn ladie’s group, very much. From Fenn, she would travel central Alberta to attend events (an annual favorite was her trip to the Rosebud Theatre), visiting and caring for family and friends.

Connie passed away in Stettler on July 3, 2024. She was predeceased by her parents, Dean, Garth, Shannon, Kim, Tina, Leslie, Dennis, and Glen, and leaves her family and friends to fondly remember her quick wit, her giant heart, amazing laugh, and especially the dedication she had to her pups... Misty, L.B., and Tika.

Per Connie's request, a service and burial will not be held. She will be deeply missed.
