I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I fondly remember Rosemary when I played music at the Byemoor Hotel back in the 70s and 80s. Playing pool with Reg. They were always good times. She will be sadly missed.

God bless you Auntie Rose. Love to all the family and hope that you will find peace in the thought that she will be back with Uncle Reg in heaven. I know for sure that her and my Dad, Ken will be up there having a good laugh and chat about the old days. He missed her very much when she left England and enjoyed every minute of their reunions when she came back over the years to visit. I will be thinking of you all tomorrow and big hugs across the miles.
Mary xx

When mum died, I think it was Lorna sent a card that included the words “when the sun goes down a gentle warmth still lingers on the land” ! Let all the memories of Auntie Rose bring a gentle warmth. Love to everyone, I hope that peace and laughter soon return. Xx David.

Auntie Rose to me too, lots already been said about the relationship between her and our Mum, the letters were a celebratory event and yes were frequently dated the same, written on paper thin "air mail' paper to reduce costs, crossing somewhere mid Atlantic ocean.
I had the honour of visiting when I was a very young 17yr old, although I had never met Auntie Rose, she was in so many ways so very familiar.
During this visit clear memories of trying to get a suntan to take back to England, sure enough Auntie Rose spent time and lots of lotion trying to heal my burned back, before returning me to her big sister, Lancashire obviously had more naturally occurring UV protection than Alberta.
Rest in peace Auntie Rose, in a place with loved ones to chat with to your heart's content, Sisters together again.

Sending our love to you all. Auntie Rose will leave a big hole that only time helps to learn to live around. She will be remembered on both sides of the Ocean. May she rest in peace and be reunited with her dearly departed.

Auntie Rose, what an absolutely fabulous woman. I had the honour of visiting in person and exploring the local area in her car, which much to my amazement had 3 seats in the front!
She was always up for a joke, trying her hardest to convince mum to let me take one of the kittens on offer at the Reserve we visited.
Thank you Auntie Rose for teaching mum about the joys of Stilton and Broccoli Soup. It's been a well loved recipe from the moment we got back.

Mum was Auntie Rose’s sister and I think that they missed each other every day after Auntie Rose emigrated to Canada. They wrote as often as they could afford both the cost and the time, Mum treasured her letters from Auntie Rose and there was great excitement when they arrived.
As time passed and either phone calls got cheaper or they got a little bit better off they eventually spoke by phone. Our whole family gathered for the momentous occasion, I remember Mum’s astonishment that Auntie Rose had a Canadian accent. No doubt in Canada people would think she had an English accent.
In the following years there were numerous cross Atlantic visits between our families. Very typical of Auntie Rose she helped Anne to travel with her lovely little boy now Shaman as Anne was going through a lot at the time. This was before Auntie Rose came over herself. She was a generous soul. I remember on one visit Auntie Rose wanted to paddle in the Atlantic from this side. This involved driving along a beach beyond the sensible area to drive as she couldn’t walk too far at that time. The inevitable happened and the car got bogged down. The lifeguard came and was pretty cross (and there was an incoming tide). Auntie Rose sweet talked him and he gave us a free tow to safety. She of course chuckled about this even though it was still to far for her to get her paddle she enjoyed seeing the sea.
When I visited Auntie Rose asked if I liked broccoli and Stilton soup. I’d never had it and couldn’t imagine how awful it would be. It’s now a favourite in my family and one of my Grandchildren always wants to make it when I visit.
Bless you Auntie Rose, I hope that you’re dancing and laughing, enjoying being reunited with loved ones xxx

Auntie Rose to me. She was close to us as children even though the ocean divided us. Our Mum was her sister and they wrote letters in those days. Months would go by during the summer when they were both busy farming and then at our house great excitement due to 'a letter from Canada'. When the letter was opened it would be dated with almost the same date that was on the letter our Mum had sent to Auntie Rose only a day or so previously. They were close and therefore we as a family were close.
In 1976 I as a young 19 year old and visited Canada and this was the beginning of my personal relationship with her. We've been in touch ever since. I believe She loved England and was devoted to her families on both sides of the 'Ocean' and her second love was animals.
She had strong views and encouraged those around her to stand up for what they thought to be right. I didn't always agree with her but she didn't seem to mind provided there was justification in the conversation. Sometimes we agreed to differ, that was fine. It didn't get in the way of our continued relationship.
Rest gently, rest calmly, rest in comfort, rest with our dearest blessing in a distant field without work, toil or pain with a clear knowledge you were loved and will be missed by us all.
With Love From Your English Family xx Angela

Rose was a beloved member of the Heartland Belles. She will be missed. She always wore such lovely fascinators, many sent from England.

Condolences to Mark and Anne and her children. I know Lorna was very close to her mom and would talk with her for hours. Owen, Quinn, Preston and Meighan loved her dearly. She was a feisty lady.
