Obituary of Iva June Campbell
In Loving Memory
June Campbell
March 5, 1936 ~ May 7, 2024
Born Iva June Allison on March 5th, 1936 to Edwin and May Allison at the family home in the Great Bend community, passed away on May 7th at the age of 88.
June was raised in the Great Bend district and spent virtually her entire life in the area, being very active in the community, participating in the Great Bend Church of Christ, the Great Bend (DORCUS) Sewing Circle, the Great Bend Cemetery Association among many others
In 1953, June married Clark Campbell and raised two children – Spencer (Anne) and Shanna (Brent).
June was always active and enjoyed being outdoors gardening, bird watching and riding her bike or taking long walks in the countryside. She took great pleasure in beautifying her yard and enjoying the fruits of her labour.
In later years, especially in winter or when the weather was poor, she would be knitting, crocheting or quilting countless items to be donated to various charities in Alberta. Often a bundle of toques, scarves or slippers would be dropped at a homeless shelter in Red Deer or Edmonton.
June was predeceased by her loving husband Clark, her parents Ed & May Allison, in-laws Bruce & Alice Campbell, brothers Lowell and Allon, sisters-in-law Verna, Carol & Kitty, brothers-in-law Ken, Sandy, Dave and Bob.
June is survived by her son Spencer (Anne) and daughter Shanna (Brent) grandchildren: Jennifer (Dave), Kenneth (Krystal), Landon (Nicole), Caleb, Breanna (Nicholas) great grandchildren: Jacob, Kayla and Mason, as well as sisters-in-law Louise Allison and Linda Bradley.
Many thanks to friends and neighbours for their friendship and support over the past months – in addition to the staff at Points West in Stettler and the Stettler hospital for their generous and kind care of June in the last weeks.
