Obituary of Clara Jean Fowler
In Loving Memory
Clara J. Fowler
July 12, 1957 ~ April 30, 2024
Clara Jean Fowler, a cherished wife, devoted mother, and beloved grandmother, passed away suddenly on April 30th at the age of 66, following a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and boundless generosity.
Clara was born to Bob and Helen Nichols and grew up alongside her siblings George, Minnie, Marg, Hoss, and Rob on the family farm North of Castor. She attended Theresetta School for her Kindergarten through 12 education before marrying her high school sweetheart, Dan Fowler.
Throughout her life, Clara embraced a variety of roles, from her early days working at the Castor Lodge to her most important position as the Farm Boss. She was the heartbeat of the household, juggling responsibilities ranging from cow checking and feeding to serving as a community day home, school caretaker, teacher assistant, and bus driver.
However, Clara's greatest joy stemmed from her family. She found immense happiness in watching her children and grandchildren thrive, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth. Clara was often found in the kitchen, preparing meals and baking and ensuring everyone was well cared for. She was a dedicated supporter of her children and grandchildren's activities and celebrations. In her spare moments, Clara indulged in her passion for crafting, whether it be sewing, knitting, crocheting, or tending to her beloved vegetable and flower gardens. Her hands were always busy creating gifts for loved ones or hand-knit toques and washcloths to donate to newborns in the hospital.
Clara will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 48 years, Dan Fowler; her children: Justin (Renée) Fowler of Red Deer, Amanda (Steve) Jackson of Red Deer, Dean (Emma) Fowler of Halkirk and Lee (Becky) Fowler of Halkirk. She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Grace, Logan, Brody, Kaylee, James, Eliza, Harrison, Olivia, Tony, and Paige.
Clara was predeceased by her parents Bob and Helen Nichols; sister Rita Nichols; her in-laws Jim and Doris Fowler and by her grandson baby Nathan Fowler.
In honoring Clara's memory, may we find solace in the love and compassion she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and selflessness will forever remain in our hearts.
