Lee was such a joy to have as a worshipper in our church. His wisdom, love and insightful testimonies made a huge difference in our Sunday morning services! His huge hug was always a highlight for me! As his Pastor, I’m going to miss his presence in our service! I’m thrilled he is safely home in the presence of Jesus!

I enjoyed Lee so much. When he would walk into church and shake my hand, he would look in my eyes and smile such a genuine smile, as though he were so glad to see me and so glad to be in church.
One memory I’ll cherish is driving west of Edmonton to pick up a lawn tractor for the church. I can’t tell you how much I was looking forward to that because two hours alone with Lee would be encouraging, educational, uplifting, inspiring and a class in wisdom. I was not disappointed.
I love how he would gently and humbly speak about things he disagreed with me on. What could have been conflict he turned into wise counsel.
During the Christmas musical practices this year, in his role as the narrator, he would get emotional while reading about the significance of “Emmanuel, God with us.” A phrase that we hear over and over at Christmas he made into a statement of truth and being. His passion for Jesus impacted us all.
One thing you knew about Lee was that he loved studying the Bible, and loved spending time in God’s presence. It showed in everything he did.
I will remember singing Blessed Assurance at the funeral and thinking there’s nothing else to say. He loved Jesus here on earth and there was no doubt, it was a matter of fact, and now he was loving Jesus face to face.
I truly will miss him.
I enjoyed Lee so much.

Dear Donna and family, our very sincere condolences. Our paths haven't crossed very often over the years but when they did they were always very enjoyable! Way back in the mid 80's you had us in for lunch in Coronation. You had two tables set up to seat us all...all the children and adults. Talk about noisy and fun! We send our love to you all. We are thinking and praying with you. Don and Edith Stuhlsatz.

We met Lee and Donna many years ago at Veteran Camp. Our children became friends and our daughter Naomi married Ryan, and we became family.
Lee as a man of his word. He stood by his principals and was respected by those who knew him. His love for Jesus and His word was very evident in his life. His legacy will continue to live on in the lives of his children and those whose lives he has touched.
His was a life well lived and his memory will become a treasure in the lives of those who loved him.

Donna and family,
I want to send my sincere condolences to you and the family.
It was only back in February that Lee called me to say that he was going to write more history of Auntie Ann and Uncle Obed and ask that I write more history of mom and Dad (Ruth and Erling Berg).
We spoke for two hours reminiscing of days long ago; we had some good giggles. Lee was like another brother to me, he frequented our place a lot hanging out (or helping) Nils. In the winters, both of our families lived together in the house in Veteran so we could attend school, avoiding the winter challenges of riding the school bus through the snow.
One memory discussed was the occasion where mom (Ruth Berg) was in the hospital; Nils, Lee and I were to look after the affairs of our farm. Before going to school we were to do the chores before getting on the bus. I woke up in the morning thinking it was 7:00 am and woke up Nils and Lee saying we needed to hurry to do the chores before the bus came. Either Nils or Lee noticed it was 5:00 am not 7:00 am. They were quite upset with me and went back to bed. We then slept-in! This was then a big rush to complete everything before the bus came.
While we were at school, Grandma and Grandpa (Otto and Hilda) and Uncle Bud came to the farm to check on things. The house was so cold; they had to keep their coats on for at least an hour while they got the furnace going. We had failed to tend to the furnace. The furnace required ample coal to maintain the heat in the house while we were away. Needless to say, Grandma and Grandpa moved in with us! They did not trust that we could be left alone!
My heart is with you Donna and the family. The blessing is that you know Lee is with the Lord and no longer in pain. Yet the days ahead are difficult for us still here to carry on.
The evening after the Lord took my precious Bob home to glory, He gave me Psalms 138:
3 In the day when I called, You answered me; and You strengthened me with strength (might and inflexibility to temptation) in my inner self.
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me.
8 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, endure forever—forsake not the works of Your own hands. (Amplified version)
NIV: 8. The LORD will vindicate me;
your love, LORD, endures forever—
do not abandon the works of your hands.
I pray this will be a promise for you to hold on to; the Lord has not failed me and He will be with you in all of the details.
Love Sharon Guthrie and Family
