Obituary of Alexis Jo Johnson
Alexis Jo Johnson
December 4, 1980 ~ January 9, 2024
Alexis Jo Johnson a fearless and gentle soul, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the age of 43. She leaves behind a legacy of passion, resilience, and love.
Born and raised in the picturesque town of Summerland, BC, Alexis developed an early love for horses. Riding and competing in Gymkhana events and trail competitions, she found joy in the freedom and grace of equestrian pursuits.
In her early years, Alexis embraced the challenges of single motherhood with grace and determination. Moving to Calgary, Alberta, she pursued her love for horses by working at the racetrack. Later, in Edmonton, Alexis welcomed two more children into her life, Amber and Brandon.
For six years, Alexis devoted herself to an elite training facility, where she played a vital role in feeding, raising, and training Equestrian horses. Her commitment to these majestic animals reflected her unwavering passion and dedication.
The final chapter of Alexis's remarkable journey was spent at UFA, where she worked for eight years. Her dedication to her work was evident, and she excelled as a leader and mentor, leaving an indelible mark on those she worked with.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Alexis embraced life with zest and fearlessness. From raising horses, goats, cats, and dogs to engaging in adventurous activities like skydiving, camping, quadding, and hunting, she approached each experience with enthusiasm.
Alexis's warmth, kindness, and ability to face life's challenges without fear will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and colleagues. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing this remarkable woman.
A Come & Go Social to celebrate Alexis's life will be held at the Stettler Funeral Home, Stettler, Alberta on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 2-5:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the ALS Society of Alberta.
