Wanda and family. The service is over and what a great tribute to a very dear friend. It just seems so final and that has been really hard. He was an exceptional man in every sense of the word. He would often to say to me Bonnie some friends are here for a season and that's okay. I am so thankful we had many seasons, many memories. No words could ever explain what a true friend you were. Chuck was best example of what a true friend should be. Chuck you will be missed more than you could ever imagine. Life is going to be tough, and you have prepared us all for this day as much as you could. But we will MISS YOU!
So Chuck I am going to say this again:
If there was one gift, I wish I could have given you, it would be the ability to see yourself as others seen you.
Because only then would you know how extremely special you are.
Rest in Pease my Very Dear Friend and Doctor - you will never be forgotten.

Chuck was our trusted and respected doctor for years and also took on the care of both our Moms when they moved to Stettler. He had a warm, welcoming smile, was patient and took the time to listen. At work , he was calm and approachable and explained things in down to earth, understandable terms. He was so knowledgeable. Not only about medical things but world events past and present, politics - pretty much everything.
He helped us with camera and computer questions, explained pickle ball rules, toured us around Arizona, and was even part of a couple roof shingling projects.
Then there was his sense of humour - one of his famous lines was “if that doesn’t work, we’ll have to shoot you”.
Besides being a great doctor and friend, he was an all around nice man. He did so much for the community for so many years and is gone much to soon.
To Wanda and all the family, our sincere condolences. We will miss him, but will remember the happy times shared.

Wanda: Pat and myself were so sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. I first met Chuck in 1981 when we moved to Stettler. He was my physician for several years even after we moved away from Stettler in 1988. He continued to do my RCMP medicals as well as my aviation medicals for several years. I trusted him more than any other physician I ever met and considered him not only a wonderful doctor but a friend as well. He served his community well and will be truly missed.

Chuck was our Family Doctor for years until retirement, and was one of the most pleasant, caring people ever to deal with our health. He actually Listened, and spoke clearly and in words to be understood, with his patients. He was also one of our "Community Friends", to whom I could converse with on a first-name basis, on so many subjects...
** One thing that will forever stand out in my mind, however, about Chuck is, that I give him credit for the fact that I am still walking on this earth.. I feel he gave me a better and longer life:
It was a spring day in 1985 when I was in his office with some concerns about my chest. It turned out to be a slight lung condition that could become serious. His words still ring in my head to this day..... " Louis, - If you stop smoking now, this will not get any worse. BUT, if you don't, - I can't tell you when it won't matter anymore..."
That was the day I quit smoking - cold turkey, and have never looked back.
Thank you, Chuck.

Dr. Chuck was a treasured doctor and friend for decades. He was a kind, sincere, gentle, considerate, and intelligent doctor and friend. We used to race to Don’s Car Sales Saturday mornings to see who could get his car washed first, and when Chuck did, you got to see his great grin and hear his subtle chuckle. Two qualities I always enjoyed, even when visiting him late in his life.
Dr. Chuck was highly skilled, talented, and thorough physician. I will forever admire him.

I worked with Dr. Heaven at the clinic, hospital and on the hospital and ambulance boards and was always impressed with his calm, compassionate way of dealing with things. He always took time to explain things in everyday language to everyone in health care and was a great asset to the whole community. His passing leaves a huge hole not only in his families lives, but in the whole community. Wanda and family I hope all your special memories will help you through all the difficult "firsts" ahead. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Hugs. Linda Garstad

Oh Chuck there is not enough paper in the world to begin to write a tribute to you, but nobody deserves it more, the four of us had so many more plans to look forward to, and enjoy, but unfortunately time wasn’t on our side.
Where do we begin, how can we put into words how much our ‘bestie’ meant to us.
Friendships are formed sometimes for a reason, sometimes for a season, and rarely for a life, we were so lucky to have made ours a lifelong friendship.
How did a chance meeting with distant family, become a friendship of 23 years, even with the distance between us, we maintained an unbreakable bond, always fearing that eventually one of us would break the loop, and leave us as a trio.
Wanda, Chuck & ‘The Brits’, so many of our friends unable to understand how we could all live together for up to three months at a time and still come out, “wanting to do the same next year”!
Friends are some of the most precious people in our lives, some people even say they are the family we have chosen for ourselves, we didn’t look upon you as a doctor, although it’s so obvious how important you were to so many people as ‘Dr Heaven’, to us you were just Chuck, our best friend.
We could go on and on, with all the wonderful attributes, but just want to thank you and Wanda for being such special friends, and until we all meet up again, and recouple as the famous four……… love you Chuck

We will miss you, Uncle Chuck. Losing such a calm, steady, and intelligent family member is difficult. Even when I surprised him by opening the window of his plane, it wasn’t enough to rattle him.
He was a doctor by trade but also our Dr. Computer and a doctor of barbeque and deep frying turkey.
The whole family will miss our visits, and our deepest condolences to Auntie Wanda, Brad, Linsey, and Leanne.
Love,
Cody, Laura, Zeke, Auston, and Zoë

Chuck… there is such a hole in our family without you here. From the moment I stepped into the Fenske/Heaven clan, it felt like home. It was instant family. You were always calm but had such a loud presence. You didn’t have to say anything but when you did everyone listened. I don’t think I ever acknowledged how much you reminded me of my dad but you did. Cody shared a lot of memories but one of the ones that stuck was the time in your plane… I bet you looked like a giant in his eyes. The life you and Wanda created, was beautiful. Fast forward to Cody and I having children… you and Wanda created traditions instantly… smarties, the toy bin… you made it an experience and they always knew the plan. You treated them as if they were your own and they felt it! Last week Zeke did the Terry Fox run… his bib said “I’m running for Grapa (my dad) & Uncle” Chuck” kinda beautiful right?. We’ll always remember you and we’ll always celebrate the impact you had while you were here. You left behind a beautiful legacy and I think everyone was a better human for having known you. Rest in Paradise Chuck. You were one of a kind.

You were one of the very best men I knew.
When everything seemed chaotic you were our calm, our guidance, our wisdom.
Having to say goodbye is never an easy thing, but saying goodbye to such a caring and loving man is not something I would wish on anyone.
I will miss you, I love you and I am devastated.
Even in the midst of this terrible grief, I am so grateful for the wonderful legacy you have created. I thank you for this wonderful family;
I thank you for raising such an amazing man;
I thank you for all the fabulous memories you helped create. I thank you for accepting me. I thank you…
And, as you rest in that well-deserved peace, you should know this: your goodness, your decency, your love will live on.
But more than that, you live on forever in the hearts of all those blessed enough to have known you.

My son Carson started a continuing theme about Dr. Heaven. Every tribute thereafter highlighted the competence, confidence empathy and concern that Chuck showed so many loyal patients for so many years. We had the privilege of having Chuck as our family doctor for our many years in Stettler. His calm demeanour brought much comfort to us many times.
You don’t truly appreciate the secure feeling of having a family doctor until you move and are immediately faced with the real difficulty of finding a new doctor.
It is a sad irony that the man who cared for so many for so long ended up with an illness that he couldn’t cure for himself.
Chuck was not only our doctor but he was our friend and we will truly miss him.
Our sincere condolences to you Wanda and your family.

Our sincere condolences to Wanda & Family. Chuck was a great doctor and he listened to everything you happened to mention even if it was off hand. He was very thorough and thoughtful. I enjoyed his chats when he would cause you to think about a different path, “ like why is it everyone compares Canada’s health system to the USA which ranks as one of the poorest, when we should be comparing ourselves to Number 1 or 2 in the world”? He was always thinking and we felt lucky to have him as a doctor and a friend. Rest in peace. Karyne, Larry Wilson & Family

Oh my goodness Wanda, my heart is breaking for you and yours. Your Chuck was our Dr. For just shy of forever. Even after we moved to Langdon we would drive to Stettler for our yearly medical. Had so much faith and trust in Dr Heaven. He delivered 2 of our babes, I would trust him all over forever and ever. What a great man the world has lost, our world as we know has been forever changed. I am so very sorry to hear of your loss, I pray your memories will give you strength, stay strong and keep on going girl, Chuck would have wanted that for you and yours.
God speed Chuck Heaven, you were Amazing.
Thank you for all years of being our Dr, still haven’t found anyone that is even remotely close.
Thank you, Thank you,and Thank you once again.

My condolences to family. Dr Heaven was a wonderful doctor and I truly enjoyed his guidance. I remember a time when his keen sense of humour. I was with my son at the clinic when my daughter called. My youngest son was trying to have an inappropriate breakfast. I asked to speak to him. I greeted him with his full name and said that ice cream was not an acceptable breakfast choice. Dr Heaven quickly said “busted”!! This was just one way he helped this single mom with her parenting struggles. Hugs and prayers.
