Obituary of Arthur Glen Cole

Arthur Glen Cole was born the eldest of four children to Glen and Hilda Cole in 1928 at the very first Coronation Hospital. From an early age he helped on the farm, catching the end of the horse and plow days and the start of using tractors. At nineteen, he rented his first two acres of land. He attended SAIT university to be trained in industrial farm equipment and agricultural practices. By the time he married his late wife Myrtle Cole (Risto) in 1958, Art had a few more acres, a growing feedlot and most of a house built. Together they raised four children, who in turn gave them 16 grandkids and 23 and counting great-grand kids. Art had a strong faith in the Lord, and a dedicated church life, though he shared he felt closest to God in nature.

After fifty years of farming, Art spent the latter part of his life volunteering, travelling, and providing a home for foreign students. Art was a firm believer in living in the moment. No matter what stage of life he was in, he was content and worked hard to make the most out of every situation. Known for his quick wit and humour, Art was always making people laugh.

He will be missed by his surviving family; sisters Gwen (Albert) Scheffelmair and Evelyn Leskiw, sister-in-law Diana (Watson) Cole and sons Kurt (Lynn) Cole, Carson Cole, Dwight (Bonnie) Cole , son-in-law Bob Webber, and all his grand and great-grand kids.

He is predeceased by his parents, Glen and Hilda Cole, his wife Myrtle Cole, brother Lenard Cole, sister-in-law Islen (Grover) Cole, brother-in-law Russ Leskiw, and daughter Faye Webber.
