Celebration of Life
Obituary of Margaret Jean Clarke
In Loving Memory of Margaret Jean Clarke
September 19, 1935 ~ August 7, 2023
Margaret passed away peacefully on Monday August 7th at the age of 87 years. She was beloved by all that knew her, had the cutest smile, and loved the very simple things in life.
Margaret is survived by her husband Allen Clarke, her children Joanne (Jay Piche) Siemens, Ken (Karen Dedora) Siemens, Laurie (Dwight) Myshaniuk, grandchildren: Michael (Savannah Bonagofsky) McIvor, Andrew McIvor, Alyssa Dedora, Devon Dedora, Kayla (Kyle Lawrence) Myshaniuk and Curtis Myshaniuk; great grandson Mason McIvor; stepchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and many dear friends.
Margaret is predeceased by her husband Harold Siemens, her parents, Chloe and Frederick Bedford, her siblings: Beth Bowers, James Bedford, Illa Bedford, Lillian Trofin and Marion Bedford.
Margaret was the youngest of six children born to Chloe and Frederick Bedford on September 19, 1935, in Avonlea Saskatchewan. She moved to Alberta in her twenties where she met Harold “Slim” Albert Siemens and soon became a devoted mother to Joanne, Ken, and Laurie. The family lived in Edmonton, and Calgary, but mostly in Central Alberta. However, they spent a little time as far north as Hay River NWT. Margaret took her job as a mother very seriously by providing her kids with what she could even if it meant that she went without. Her finest qualities were her fierce devotion and dedication, undying love, complete selflessness, and kindness. She loved ALL God’s Creatures, so much that her and Allen tried to save a loose critter from the local meat place down the road by hiding it in their backyard. They quickly realized that wouldn’t work.
After Harold’s passing Margaret moved to Stettler in 1994 with her daughter Laurie. She took great pride in her grandkids and great grandson as well as her work at Heartland Auto and Industrial Supply in the office filing papers. She showed up every day to help with the grandkids and get her work done. In 2008, she moved into Paragon Place Senior Lodge where she met and married her loving husband Allen Leroy Clarke on August 2, 2009. The two young loves decided they should move out on their own at the ripe ages of 82 and 74. Margaret and Allen worked hard at gardening all summer to sell their products at the local market or in front of their house right up until 2022. Once Covid “Covis” as Margaret called it hit, they discovered that their granddaughter could help them sell their goods on that “face thing.” Margaret’s golden years were truly that, as she met many friends of the Seventh Day Adventist Church who welcomed her with open arms and provided her with much needed spiritual guidance and comfort. She will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
