Jane lived an incredibly full life, and her loss is beyond measure for those who were touched by her kind, compassionate, and generous nature. She lived life on her own terms and had a beautiful capacity to accept others as they were with love and kindness. Strides ahead of her time for a woman born in the 40s, nothing could stop Jane from providing for her family and giving back to her community. Her work ethic was unmatched—demonstrated by her decades of service to the Rural Municipality 347 of Biggar, Saskatchewan, as a farmer and cream quota provider for the Alberta government, and in her sunset years, working at Sobeys in Stettler, Alberta—endlessly dedicated to serving others.
Jane loved being in nature and had a special connection with animals of all kinds—evidenced by the many years spent on her farm “Shamrock Acres” in Alix, Alberta. Jane loved being with family and had a remarkable impact that spanned multiple generations. Jane taught us all how to live in the moment, to never give up, and we will honour her by doing just that. We will miss Jane’s fierce spirit, her smile, laugh, and hugs, but are comforted in knowing that she will live on through the stories we tell, the words we write, and in our hearts and minds.
Jane’s Celebration of Life will be held on Monday July 24 at 1:00PM at the Stettler Funeral Home, located at 4707 70th Street, Stettler, Alberta, with a luncheon to follow at 4718 – 48 Street in Stettler.
