Audrey McKnight

Obituary of Audrey Alice McKnight

Please share a memory of Audrey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On May 24, 2023; at the age of 77, we said a final goodbye to our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Audrey McKnight.

Mom was born in Lampman, Saskatchewan. Our family moved to Stettler, Alberta in 1974. In her earlier years, Mom was well known for her work at the Stettler Independent in her role as Advertising Manager. Well known by many businesspeople in town, she always delivered what she promised for advertising support in the community. Mom was strongly devoted to her family, always selflessly supporting us in our many activities.

At the age of 53, our mother lost her eyesight. This was due to her long-time battle with Sjogren’s Syndrome – a debilitating disease that she lived with to the end. Mom was a voracious reader and second to not being able to see the smiles on faces of friends and loved ones, her loss of ability to read was heartbreaking for her. Despite not being able to travel and see family, we always managed to stay connected with a phone call or a visit.

Audrey will be forever remembered and deeply missed by her partner, Don Scorah; her children, Kevin McKnight (Jackie), Taylor McKnight (Taylor Irwin), & Ryley McKnight (Paden Parent); Curtis McKnight (Sherri), Scott & Mark McKnight; and Tara Hallett (Lonnie), Ryan Hallett (Shannon) and great grandson Aidan, Kelsey Kooman (Avery), & Jennifer Hallett.

She is also survived by brothers, sisters, and their families; Florina Schaff (William); Ernie Nadon; Oscar Nadon (Vi); Fay Sheard (Dave); & Amie Nadon (Faye); as well as numerous other relatives and many dear friends.

Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Marvin McKnight, father Dave Nadon, mother Dora Nadon, Sister in Law Julie Nadon, and niece Jaime Nadon.

In celebration of Mom’s life we will hold a Private Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the Stettler Funeral Home.
