Sheila was born in Durham County, England, to Robert & Sarah Wade (nee Simpson) April 12, 1925 and died in the Stettler Hospital seven days before her 98th  birthday.

Along with her parents Robert (Pop) and Sarah, and her siblings Robert and Mavis, she left England and landed at Pier 21, March 28, 1926 to begin her life in Canada.  Living in Erskine and Fenn they enjoyed a life farming.  And along came sister Leila, completing their family.

Sheila enjoyed donating her time to the Alix Village Shoppe, the Rebekah’s as well as serving on executive or doing audits for various groups.  Sheila was very proud of winning Gold when Floor Curling with her teammates at the 55 plus games and had many stories to tell of their time.  In her spare time she always had needles in hand – crocheting, knitting, tatting, needlepoint, as well as painting.

Many of her 11 nieces and nephews remember activities with her – visiting the creamery, trying to shock her with stories of their activities, spending time with Scamp (her little dog), gardening, or looking for bargains at thrift stores.
