My condolences to Laverne’s family.
She was a nursing classmate of mine, and though I did not know her well, I remember that she was a serious student and that she had a ready smile….sometimes mischievous as I recall. I last met her at one of our class reunions some years ago….we are having another one this summer and I know that she will be missed and her passing will be acknowledged.
God’s blessings to all,
Ann (Hirsch) Dyck

Gary and Family, sending sincere sympathy to your families, Also, to Bea and other care workers, who loved her dearly. She fought a long steady fight and now shines brightly above for everyone to enjoy, looking down proudly on her family.

I was blessed being Lavernes caregiver. It was time for Laverne to leave on her next journey.
Not only did I have a wonderful few years with this remarkable woman but I was proud to be her voice.
She let me know if I was ticking her off by giving me her stink eye or pointing a finger and shaking it at me. You definitely knew then
It was time to back off! She taught me to have more patience. She taught me to smile at the smallest things.
Laverne loved painting and colouring and reading her books.
Movies, you could tell if she liked one or not.
She had many ways of communicating and it was easy to catch on. We played music everyday, all types. She did enjoy music, maybe she didn’t enjoy my dance moves or crow like singing voice!
Laverne had an awful disease that so many have. It is so difficult on families. This beautiful lady had a family that loved and cared for her above and beyond!
We had a great group of caregivers that respected and cared for Laverne.
I will miss this strong lady. Rest now Laverne

May your love for each other give you the strength and courage to carry on with your lives as she would have hoped. Norma and Jim Leslie
