Russell “Todd” Roper
1963 – 2022
Russell “Todd” Roper passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at the age of 59 years.
Todd was born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan on January 20, 1963 and moved to Drayton Valley, Alberta at the age of 5 years. Todd completed his schooling in Drayton Valley and immediately went to work as an oilfield operator. During this time, he moved a lot within the same company living in places like Hannah, Wood Buffalo and Estevan and finally settling in Rocky Mountain House. It was here that the two most important people in Todd’s life were born. Brett in 1998 and Megan in 1999. In 2003 Todd made his final move to the town of Stettler.
Todd loved all sports, especially hockey, baseball and golf. He especially loved watching Brett and Megan play the many sports they were involved with. One of his other passions was music. In 2019 Todd got to fulfill a lifelong dream and went with Brett to Green Bay to watch his Packers play at Lambo Field as well as the Chicago Cubs play at Wrigley Field. Todd enjoyed his work and all the people he worked with along the way. He was a very hard worker and very dedicated to his job.
