Obituary of Candy Dyck

In loving memory of Candance Lee Dyck.  Candy went to be with her Lord & Saviour February 21, 2022 at the Hospice at Heart Haven, Stettler, Alberta.

Born to Mickey and Carol Bonham of the Great Bend District, Delburne, Alberta.  She was born at the Elnora Hospital on September 24, 1948, the first of four children.

She was married to Ronald Dyck of Nevis, Alberta, December 20, 2003 where they resided until moving to Stettler in 2020.

Candy is survived by her loving husband Ron Dyck of Stettler; her children Jordie Hawley of Stettler and Sarah Hawley of Stettler; grandchildren: Tessa Harker of Stettler and Michael Van Unen of Stettler; 
brother Daniel (Glenna) Bonham of Delburne; sisters Penny (Harvey) Gamble of Calgary and May (Bill) McKenzie of Bashaw.  

Candy is also survived by Ron’s family, step children Richard Dyck of Mirror and Robert Dyck of Alix; brothers-in-law: Lawrence (Ursula) Dyck of Calgary, Melvin (Carol) Dyck of Rochon Sands,Thorval (Janice) Dyck of Delburne; sisters-in-law:  Joanne (David) Genyk of Nevis, Sandra Steele of Red Deer, Angela Rea of Calgary, Lori Dyck of Edmonton, Judy Dyck of Red Deer, Marlene Dyck of Magrath and Dana Dyck of Blind Bay, BC; as well as numerous other relatives and many dear friends.

Candy was a faithful long-time member of her church.  She also worked and served as a volunteer in the community at large.  Because of her care and concern for others she became a friend and mentor to many.   

She also became involved as a Chaplin with the RRT in the Billy Graham Ministry.  Wherever she went she touched lives in a Godly way.

Candy’s burial will take place at the Great Bend Cemetery at 12 noon (approx. 2 km west of Content Bridge, watch for sign and turn south. Go approx. 1 km south and the cemetery will be on the west side of the road), a Memorial and Celebration of Life will follow at the Evangelical Free Church of Erskine at Erskine, Alberta at 2 PM, Saturday the 5th of March, 2022.
