Obituary of Dorothy May McQuay
In Loving Memory
Dorothy May McQuay
August 7, 1930 ~ November 7, 2021
Dorothy May McQuay Dorothy was born on August 7, 1930 in Ponoka, Alberta to Alfred and Katherine Patterson. She and her twin sister grew up near Gadsby, Alberta on a family farm along with her 4 brothers and 4 sisters. On Dec 4, 1948 Dorothy married Glenn McQuay and together, they raised their 8 children. Dorothy and Glenn lived in the Stettler area all of their lives and were well known in the community.
Dorothy was a hard working, determined (some may say stubborn) individual with a heart of gold. She was a mother to many, a delicious cook and no one left her home hungry. In her later life Dorothy became an avid quilter sharing her quilts with all her family and friends. While she loved her children and would do anything for them her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved them dearly.
Even though Dorothy had been struggling with a number of health issues over the past year she never lost her spunk and feistiness.
