Leonard Raymond Tiedeman

1941 – 2021

 

Leonard Raymond Tiedeman passed away peacefully on February 27, 2021 at Heritage House Long Term Care in Stettler, AB, surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

Len was born in Shaunavon, SK on February 4, 1941. 

He attended school in Shaunavon until he began his career in the oil and gas industry in the mid 1950’s.  He began pushing tools in 1964.

Len met his wife Lorraine in 1968 and they were married August 22, 1969 in Tompkins, SK.

He became a drilling consultant in 1978 and was recognized in the industry as someone that companies could engage for his expertise in problematic and difficult drilling conditions.

Len was called “Swede” by many who knew him and was known for his kindness, generosity and good humour.

In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, driving, playing crib and watching all types of sports.

He was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents, parents John and Mae, brother-in-law Arnold and sister-in-law Rose.

Leonard is survived by his children: Wanda (Chelm), Jacqueline (Stacy), Troy (Tennille) and grandchildren: Christian, Saxon, Danika, Danton, Graff and Riddley; siblings Doug, Cameron “Bud” (Ellen), Marlene (George), Jack (Gloria), Don, Darlene, Valerie, Anne (Ken), Dallas and Vincent, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

CARD OF THANKS

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and residents at Heritage House.  They went above and beyond to make Dad feel welcome and comfortable.  We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to his good friend Richard Hand for being a special person in Dad’s life.
