OBITUARY NANCEY MCALLISTER

1931 - 2020

Nancey Mae (Peterson) McAllister passed away, due to complications from cancer, at the Red Deer Hospital on October 3, 2020 with her son Larry by her side.

Nancey was born in Hughenden, Alberta, on October 20, 1931.  She grew up with brothers: Glenn, Manley, Clarence and Richard who have all predeceased her as well as several cousins.   In 1948, she married Laurance McAllister.  In a few years they moved to Stettler and eventually owned a small farm in the Linda Hall district where they enjoyed the friendship and community spirit.  After Laurance passed away in 1995, Nancey moved to Red Deer to be with her son and family.

She will be missed by her son Larry: daughter-in-law Virginia: granddaughters: Heather (Paul), Leah (Darcy) and Kristen (Chris); great grandchildren: Ian, Robyn, Sarah, Kyla, Owen and Alton.  She will also be missed by surviving cousins and friends from the areas she lived.

The family would like to thank staff and friends at Parkvale Lodge for the care and kindness that she was shown over the years as well as those who recently welcomed her at Extendicare Michener Hill.

A funeral is not planned.  Close family will get together at a later date.  Nancey will be interred with her late husband Laurance at the Lakeview Cemetery in Stettler. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.stettlerfuneralhome.com who are entrusted with the care and funeral arrangements. 403-742-3422
