“I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

                                                                                                                        Psalm 91:2

Cora Kathleen (Baker) (Burrell) LATRACE went home to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, on April 16, 2020, at the age of 98.   Cora was born October 6, 1921, on the family farm at Wallard, Saskatchewan, to Arthur and Elsie Baker, the only daughter with five brothers.  She attended the Tweed School and went on to work in Aneroid and Wilcox, Saskatchewan.  Cora met Bill Burrell and they were married November 16, 1957.  Bill and Cora pastored churches in Mossbank, Perdue, Carnduff, SK, and Enchant, AB from 1957 to 1975.  In that time they also did mission work in South Africa.   In 1975 they moved to Lacombe, AB, where they were the caretakers for the Lacombe Memorial Centre, Police Station, Library and Town Office buildings.  Bill passed away in July, 1979.  Cora continued to work in Lacombe doing caretaker work and driving school bus.  In July of 1982, Cora married Alvin Latrace and moved to the farm at Tessier, SK.  Cora always took pride in her work on the farm growing large gardens of vegetables and prize-winning flowers, driving grain truck and doing many crafts.  In February, 2004, after Alvin passed away, Cora moved to Red Deer, AB, to be closer to her family.  Cora lived on her own, maintaining her house and yard for 13 years.  At the age of 93, Cora decided to give up driving and sell her car.  In July, 2017, Cora moved to Aspen Ridge Seniors Home in Red Deer, AB where she was very content until her passing.

Cora leaves to mourn her children, Sterling (Kathy) Burrell; Lowry (Bev) Burrell; Myra (Steve) Neufeld and Telford Burrell; her step-children, Bill (Lorna) Latrace; Diane (Terry) Fox and Linda (Frank) Porter; her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Cora is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Elsie Baker; her five brothers, Thomas, Earl, James, Cecil and Gerald Baker; husband, William Burrell and husband, Alvin Latrace.  Mom, we know we will see you again and we have another reason to look forward to Heaven.
