Phyllis, a resident of Stettler, Alberta was born at Rossburn, Manitoba on March 4, 1919. She passed away peacefully on March 30, 2020 at the age of 101 years in the Stettler Hospital. Phyllis became a registered nurse and a licensed reflexologist. She married Bill Ball in 1945. Bill and Phyllis moved from Calgary, Alberta to Trochu in 1948 to own and operate Jenkins Grocery. This soon became Ball’s Foodland. They also became well known in the community as they also began Ball’s Furniture Store. Phyllis was a very talented seamstress and made curtains, upholstery and most of their own clothing. They ran this business for 30 years. Bill and Phyllis retired and moved to Stettler in the early nineties. They travelled south to Yuma, AZ and spent lots of time in their trailer. They worked some summers in Banff hostessing at several restaurants. They had a beautiful marriage of 62 years and served The Gideons for 52 years together and Phyllis continued as a Gideon until her passing. They were faithful members of the Stettler Baptist Church and then after Bill’s death was involved with the Erskine Evangelical Free Church. Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, three sisters, a twin sister, Gaye and beloved husband Bill. She leaves to mourn her nephew Gordon (Cam) Bryan and children and many cherished friends. Phee was her known name among friends. She will be dearly missed by those people in her last few years, at Willow Creek Lodge, Points West Living, Stettler Hospital and Care Centre and by her very dearest friends. Thank you for all Caregivers. Lovingly remembered.
