Arlene Doris Parker
September 18, 1941 – June 24, 2011
Arlene was born to Robert and Ellen Parker at Bentley, Alberta, the third of four children. She passed away at the Sturgeon Hospital, St. Albert, Alberta at the age of 69 years.
The family lived at Bentley and Sylvan Lake until moving to Edmonton in 1946; the brothers were out on their own.
Arlene took her schooling in Edmonton and lived her remaining years in Edmonton. Arlene worked at a Dental Lab for many years and was well thought of by her employers. Arlene had a generous heart and donated some of her time serving meals for various charitable organizations and worked at the Edmonton Food Bank. She was very artistic and creative. She loved to sew, crochet and was a very good cook.
Arlene cared for her Mom after an illness and visited her dad in the nursing home in Ponoka until her passing. She arranged his 91st birthday at his son’s home in Ponoka. Arlene believed in herself, she will be remembered for her honesty and the helping hand she offered.
Arlene loved animals, flowers and butterflies. Took many walks around the city just to enjoy the nature. Her last pet was a beautiful long haired white cat named Gizmo, what a pair they made. Arlene lived life to the fullest and will be missed by many.
She was predeceased by her mother and father Robert and Ellen Parker; her brothers Howie and his wife Rose Parker and Calvin and his wife Kathy Parker. Arlene is survived by her sister Annabelle Parker and 13 nieces, nephews and their families.
