Tribute to our Grandpa
By Rich Turville May 9, 2011
Our Grandpa the fisherman,
We sure will miss him.
Lois and him raised a family on the rich Alberta land,
With 3 wonderful kids; Laura, Ann & Bill their family did expand.
Eventually 7 grandchildren, (and a great grandchild!), that he thought the world of,
As the feelings are mutual for grandpa we do love.
When he spoke of us grandkids, grandpa sure was proud,
He was never shy to tell us, and say it out loud.
Quick with a joke, or a shot to the arm,
Just to get a laugh with that old familiar charm.
Traveling west to retire on the pond,
Him and the ocean had an unmistakable bond.
Every so often us grandkids were fortunate enough to visit,
Incredible days fishing the ocean with grandpa, we sure will miss it.
Once in a while travelling east with a van full of prawn,
Arriving at your doorstep for coffee, before the break of dawn.
A hard working farmer, but a family man at heart,
In both of these roles he played the perfect part.
