Our loving mother Rose was born April 15, 1931 on the family farm south east of Carmangay, Alberta; daughter of W.C. Burke and wife Savanah. Survived by one brother Carl Burke. Rose was predeceased by her parents and six brothers: Porter, Ray, Burtla, Manning, Lethrie and Stelbert. Survived by Gordon Ensign and their children Coreta, Carter, Debbie and Jeff. Coreta (Terry) Brown - Kim (Grant) Schalin, Korey Brown; Carter (Jo-Ann) Ensign - Todd (Cari) Ensign, Troy (Tammie) Ensign, Jason (Karlee) Pytlarz, Cory (Brenda) Pytlarz; Debbie Ensign (Garry Trussler) - Jason Ensign; Jeff (Tina) Ensign - Nathan and Sarah Ensign; eight great grandchildren: Jarrett, Rebekah, Dakota Schalin, Blake and Ashley Ensign, Josie and Daneri Ensign and John Pytlarz. Rose went to school in Carmangay, married and started her family. She worked in the General Store in Milo. They moved several times and settled south of Castor in 1973. She drove school bus for 18 years. Rose then moved to Stettler in 1998 where she resided in her home. Rose enjoyed working with her children and watching them grow. She instilled in us the love of all God’s creatures. Rose enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, cooking, reading and traveling; she also enjoyed garage sales and getting a great deal. These are qualities our mother had, integrity, faithfulness, generous, grateful, sincere, kind, with a never ending love. She had strong convictions and faith in Christ; with advice to the next generations to accept Christ and follow his example with faith, trust and truth. A Celebration of Life for the late Rose Ensign will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Heartland Chapel of Stettler Funeral Home, Stettler, Alberta. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Rose to The Lending Cupboard Society or The Gideons c/o Stettler Funeral Home, Box 1780, Stettler, Alberta T0C 2L0, who are entrusted with the care and arrangements.
