Obituary of Elaine Hennel
Elaine passed away at the Stettler Hospital on August 23, 2019 at the age of 81 years.
Elaine grew up in Botha and attended Botha School grades 1-12. In 1956 she married Henry Hennel and they made their home on the farm south of Stettler.
Elaine taught many students piano lessons. She planned Christmas and spring concerts at Linda Hall. Besides the Linda Hall Community, she shared her musical talents with the Stettler Community – composing songs honouring Stettler, playing for the Remembrance Day services and playing at Senior Lodges with the Happy Gang Choir, as well as numerous funerals. Elaine was part of a group called “The Band” which eventually became "The Treble Makers,” this popular group entertained throughout Alberta and eventually recorded records. She also played with a band called “The Three Amigos” when she lived in Paragon.
Elaine belonged to the Royal Purple for sixty years and was installed as the Supreme Honoured Royal Lady of Canada (National President). In this role she visited Lodges throughout Canada.
The church was important to Elaine and she was involved with the choir and was director at the United Church Bar Harbour Camp for over twenty years.
