Haddie Konschuh

Obituary of Haddie Konschuh

It is with very heavy hearts that the family announces Haddie’s journey with us has come to an end. Haddie was born to Eric and Lydia Borger on Oct. 9, 1935 and passed away June 18, 2019 at the age of 83 years. She grew up on a farm near Bassano, Alberta and later married Stan Konschuh on Oct. 6, 1956. Together they operated a grain and cattle farm near Cluny and raised a family. In 2002, they semi-retired and then literally relocated their house to the Alix area. She leaves behind Stan, her husband of 63 years; children Cathy Goslin (Peter) and their children Sylvia Carley (Chadrick), Terry Goslin (Erin); Paul (Isabelle) and their children Kelsey and Karlee; Arlene Salacki (Ken) and their son Kale; great grandchildren Teagan, Quinn and Levi Goslin. Haddie was predeceased by her parents Eric and Lydia, children Perry and Christy, and granddaughter Shayla Salacki. Haddie was a spiritual lady who loved the western way of life. She was exceptional at gardening, landscaping, sewing, crafting creations and cooking. Haddie could whip up a gourmet meal for a large group of unexpected guests, making it look effortless; but it was always delicious! She loved her family and took pleasure in visiting anyone who came to the door. Haddie was extremely talented in her ability to paint, draw, and play the piano by ear. She excelled at anything she put her mind to, and was always willing to tackle a new project or lend a helping hand where needed. Haddie was dealt a difficult hand and had to cope with numerous health issues. Yet through it all she remained strong and determined, but is now at peace. Donations in Haddie’s memory may be made to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation or Heritage House Long Term Care Facility in Stettler, AB. At Haddie’s request, a private service will be held for the family.
