A lifelong resident of the Liberal/Stettler area, Robert (Bob) Don Johnstone passed away at the Centennial Centre in Ponoka on November 28, 2018 at the age of 85. Bob was born to Frank and Nettie Johnstone on October 8, 1933 in Stettler. He attended the Liberal and Vimy Ridge Schools and lived and worked on the family farm. Bob is survived by sister Vera West of Anchorage, Alaska, brother Glen of Calgary, special friend Marelyn Goldthorpe and her family, sisters-in-law Fay Johnstone of Red Deer and Nayda Johnstone of Castlegar, BC, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews who all held a special place in his heart. Bob was predeceased by his parents Frank and Nettie Johnstone, sisters Mabel (Ernest) Lagore and Meryle (Julian) Chinn, brothers Lloyd (Maxine), Tip, Gerald, Arnold, Willard (Joann), and sisters-in-law Josephine Johnstone and Marion Johnstone. Special thanks to caregiver Carla White for her assistance to Bob and to Bob’s family and friends for their support in his final years.
