Obituary of Maynard Alexander Woolsey

In Loving Memory Maynard Woolsey August 24, 1938 – November 1, 2018 Maynard was born on August 24, 1938 at Penzance, Saskatchewan. He moved to Stettler in 1956, attending and graduating high school there. He met Marjorie McCallum in Stettler and they married on October 2, 1959. Maynard passed away in Stettler on November 1, 2018 at 80 years of age. Maynard worked in the Oil and Gas Industry around Alberta working in Edmonton, Stettler, Nevis, Brooks, Sylvan Lake, Slave Lake, Fox Creek, Calgary, Carbon/Three Hills and Alder Flats until his retirement. He also worked in the trucking industry after his retirement in the Oil and Gas Sector. Maynard leaves to mourn his son Kelly (Shirley) Woolsey of Canmore, Alberta and his daughter Cathy (John) Sommerville of Stettler, Alberta as well as his grandchildren, Mark Woolsey, Sarah (George) Power, Chandra (Shawn) Schonken and Brett Sommerville and great grandchildren, Allie, Devon and Brayden Power and Calleigh and Shae Schonken as well as his sisters Ardelle (George) Kuchinka, Marlene Dow and brother Clair (Remy) Woolsey as well a numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his mother Barbara (Mitchell) Woolsey, father Hulbert Arnold Woolsey, brothers Horace, Hub, Eldon, Gerald, Donald, Rowland, Leonard and Boyd as well as his ex-wife Marjorie McCallum Woolsey. The family would also like to extend their appreciation to the management and staff at Points West Living Stettler for the care and kindness extended to Maynard and our family members. At Maynard’s request, there will be no formal service at this time. He will be interred at a later date in Penzance, Saskatchewan. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Alberta, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
