Obituary of Diane Nelson

It is with sad hearts that the family of Evelyn Diane Nelson announce her passing on August 11, 2018. After many years of health issues, she is finally at peace with no more pain and suffering. Diane will be lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 52 years Brian Roy Nelson. She will be greatly missed by her loving children and grandchildren: son Jeffrey Allen Nelson; daughter Kimberley Diane (Brandon Van Straten) and their children: Quinton, Olivia and Colt; daughter Leah Marie Nelson (Kelsey Kreutz) and his children Paige and Eva; son Michael Gregory Nelson (Natasha Nelson) and their son Finley. As well, she is survived by her sisters Marion Young and Faye Kleven; her sisters in law Shirley Kleven and Evelyn Kleven; Brian’s brothers Doug Nelson, Rob Nelson, Steve Nelson and her sisters in law Mary-Ann Nelson and Belle Nelson; as well as many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Diane is predeceased by her parents Orin and Peggy Kleven; her brother Gilbert Kleven; her sister and brother in law Dora and Elmer Grasdahl; her brother in law Bob Young; Brian’s parents Roy and Verna Nelson and her brothers in law Peter Nelson and Ross Nelson. Evelyn Diane Kleven was born October 21, 1946 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. Orin and Peggy moved the family to Elnora in 1947 and then settled on their farm southeast of Botha in 1961. On November 25, 1966 Brian and Diane were married in Stettler. They spent their first four years of marriage living and working in Ponoka. In 1970, they moved back to Stettler for a brief time before moving down to Calgary in 1972. In 1976 they settled back in Stettler to raise their family. Stettler became their home and still is. Diane will be laid to rest at the Botha Cemetery on Friday, August 17, 2018 with a luncheon to follow at 1:00 PM at the Botha Community Hall. Memorial donations be made to STARS, SHSF–Heritage House or a charity of your choice.
