Obituary of Ronald Julius Schwarzenberger

SCHWARZENBERGER, RONALD JULIUS (December 6, 1942-January 18, 2018) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dad and granddad, Ron Schwarzenberger. Ron grew up on the family homestead and attended Shooting Lake and Gadsby schools. He lived nearly all of his life in the house his grandfather Jacob had built. He was proud of Lazy H Ranch, the mixed farm that supported his family. He worked hard at being a good husband and father, a good farmer, and a good neighbour. He was a most excellent grandfather, attending hockey games and music concerts and everywhere else that his presence demonstrated how proud he was of his seven grandkids. Ron is survived by many loved ones. Son Alex and his wife Trish and their children Brittany, Dakota and Daniel Schwarzenberger. Daughter Shaunna and her husband Pat and their daughters Genevieve and Dominique Mireau. Son Grant and his wife Anita and their children Chelsey and Jacob Schwarzenberger. Sister Fern Janssen, her daughters and their families, Charlotte Janssen and her husband Dennis Nemes and sons Devin and Brendan Nemes and Vickie Werner and her husband Ellis and daughters Jessica and Lea Werner. Ron is also survived by many good friends and neighbours and his sister Kathleen Schwarzenberger. Ron was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Patricia Schwarzenberger (nee O’Beirne) and his parents, father Julius Schwarzenberger, mother Lillian Schwarzenberger (nee Taggart), and step-mother Nettie Schwarzenberger as well as brother-in-law Uwe Janssen. At Ron’s request, a memorial gathering for family and friends will be in the spring when the grass is green. As an expression of sympathy in loving memory of Ron, we invite to support organizations that he supported: Cancer and Diabetes charities, the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, STARS Air Ambulance, the P&H Elevator, the Stettler Food Bank or to a charity of your choice in care of Stettler Funeral Home & Crematorium P.O. Box 1780 Stettler, Alberta T0C 2L0 who are entrusted with care and arrangements.
