Obituary of Murray Arthur Saunders

The family of Murray Arthur Saunders, sadly announce his passing on February 2 , 2020. He was 26 days short of his 93rd birthday. He and his wife Marie, had been married for 70 years in November of 2019. Murray and Marie took up residence in Stettler at Points West assisted care complex in summer of 2018. Murray leaves to mourn his loving wife Marie;daughters Bev McCracken (Chris),Marilyn Balmer (Paul) and Leslie Lussier (Ray); grandchildren: Colleen McCracken (Gord), Dean Fuller (Tav), Clinton Lajuenesse (Raylene), Kyle Lajuenesse (Stephanie); great grandchildren: Nathan, Keira, Morgan, Austin, Payton, Mackenzie, Ethan, Becca and Hayden as well as numerous other relatives and many dear friends. Murray was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Doris Saunders; sister Shirley Bell and grandsons Wayne Balmer and Warren McCracken. Husband, Dad, and Grampa will be remembered as a cheerful, fun loving man who never had an enemy or anyone that didn’t love him upon meeting him. Murray spent most of his life farming in the Carbon area. He owned and operated a gravel truck for a few years, until he semi retired and then moved to Saskatchewan to assist a son in law with a service station, and work for a large grain farmer as well. They moved back to Alberta in 1999 and took up residence in Bowden where he enjoyed looking after his yard until moving to Points West. Murray spent a few weeks ill before his passing. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Memorial donations in memory of Murray may be made to the SPCA or to a charity of your choice.
