Obituary of Glenn Douglas Antoniuk
Glenn Douglas Antoniuk was born March 29, 1953 to Orest and Mary Antoniuk in Edmonton, Alberta. He was the oldest child in a family that would eventually hold three sons. Glenn spent most of his grade school in southern Saskatchewan. The family moved following his father’s job in the oil industry to Estevan and Regina. The Antoniuk’s moved back to Alberta to Lloydminster in 1970 where Glenn finished off his grade 12. This is where he met is future wife Barbara Germin, they were both 18 years of age. Glenn attended University of Saskatchewan, obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree. He worked intermittently during these university years of 72-82 at the Strathcona Refinery in Edmonton.
Glenn and his brother Grant bought a small measurement company in the oilfield service sector in 1985. They remained busy up until Glenn’s death, living in both Vegreville and Stettler, Alberta.
Glenn married Barbara in 1987. They had no children but enjoyed travelling worldwide and were very busy with their respective careers.
Glenn will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all colleagues in the oil industry. Glenn is survived by his loving wife Barbara Germin; his brothers Grant Antoniuk and David Antoniuk; mother in law Leola Germin; brother in law George Germin; sisters in law Kathleen Germin and Patricia (Doug) Fleming; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; other relatives and many dear friends.
Prayer Vigil will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 – 7:00 PM at Christ King Catholic Church, 4916-54 St., Stettler, Alberta and Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 12 (noon) PM.
