Obituary of Joseph Ovide Gauthier
On October 12, 2016 Joseph Ovide Gauthier, 89, passed away at Heritage House in Stettler, Alberta, leaving his wife Edna of 67 years.
Joseph was born in Plamondon, Alberta on March 3, 1927 the son of the late Napoleon and Bertha Gauthier.
Joseph was a hard worker and established a successful school bus business in Fort McMurray. In 1977 he and Edna retired and moved to Kelowna, B.C.
He had many friends, a sign of the kind, sincere, and sociable man he was. Joseph was always ready to lend a hand and share his skills with anyone in need. He loved his food - particularly sliced garden tomatoes in the morning and desserts at every meal.
He enjoyed building and fixing things, playing music and a good party.
Joseph was a good provider to his family and a devoted caregiver to his wife in their later years. Joe was big-hearted and very generous.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife Edna; his children: Jerry (Peggy) Gauthier, Judy Docherty (Tim Crilly), Ken (Melanie) Gauthier, Tony Gauthier (Erin Winters); his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sandra Wygle.
