Obituary of Elizabeth "Joan" Severin

Our mother was a lovely woman. She embodied all of the attributes of a perfect mom. She was caring, thoughtful, hardworking, compassionate, loving and so much more. It is so difficult to think of all the words that describe our mother as a person and how much she meant to us. Our mother was our idol and we looked up to her all of our lives. Our mother was a homemaker and a hard worker. She worked harder that most people we know. Our mother had three children (Sherri, Dwayne and Brenda), then in July of 1984 she married Dave Severin and we merged into a family of twelve, which was chaos and drama most of the time! Our mother worked hard to raise her family and was always there for us when we needed her. She was up early to help us get ready for school, was there to drive us home, make dinner, help us with our homework and put us to bed. When we were younger we weren’t able to comprehend how much time and care she put into her family. Now that we have children of our own we can truly appreciate the amount of effort she put into raising us and for this we will always be grateful. Our mother taught us a lot of skills that we will always cherish, most of all how to be a loving parent. However, she also taught us about cooking and baking, but we never asked about gardening tips. We never learned to ask about, or we misunderstood her, because instead of having a bed of flowers some of us have a bed of weeds; somehow we mistook the flower plants for the weeds, so we pulled them all. Voilà! Weed garden. We feel like we could talk all day about our mother. She was an amazing woman, who worked hard, never complained and was there for us when we needed her. She was our mother, but also our best friend. We will miss her every day for as long as we live. Love you forever Mom.
