As a young pastor at Jasper, Bowness in Calgary and then Penticton, Ernie was a veteran in ministry who offered me support and encouragement as I learned to discharge my calling. I am grateful to have known him.

Met Ernest Hanson in 2001 when we moved to High River and lived in Polo Park as a neighbor .Often met for quite times and goodies . His glass was always 3/4 full and on occasions we were in attendance when Ernest was a guest Pastor at the church. His Sermons were often uplifting and he no doubt enjoyed the opportunities to be in the pulpit.
Was our fortune to have met Ernest and his wife Sara.

Ernie and the entire Hanson family played a very special part in my life and the life of my family during his ministry in Burnaby during the 1970's. During those key late adolescent years through his words and particularly his love and genuineness he challenged me to make my faith my own and real. His sense of humor and laughter are particularly a fond memory.
He was not just a pastor but a very dear friend and I always looked forward to hearing via my parents how things were with him and his family.
May God grant a special measure of his comfort and grace to each member of the Hanson family at this time.

When I was a little girl at McLaurin Baptist in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Pastor Hansen was my pastor. I remember his as being very kind to me and all the children and I look forward to hugging him in glory. My prayers are with his family as they grieve for this loss.
