Obituary of Gloria Darlene Saar

Gloria Darlene Saar was born in Red Willow to parents, Earl Mansfield and Rosetta May Barry on February 8, 1943. She along with her sister, Evelyn and brother Roy grow up and went to school at Stettler and the family then moved to Drumheller. Many summers were spent at the cabin at Fish Lake. In 1959 she married Frank O’Hagan and they had 2 daughters together. Upon their girls growing up they separated and she re-married in 1984 to Donald Saar of Big Valley where she became part of the farming operation, coordinating, answering phone calls and getting everything lined up. Gloria loved to travel, do crafts with her Big Valley friends and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She used to joke with them saying that she was their bionic grandma and to always try to do things because everything she or they could ever make would be beautiful. These crafts will forever be very special in their eyes. Gloria enjoyed travelling and would always like to tell stories of her journeys, they included Mexico for fun and sun with Don, Las Vegas for the slot machines and she did enjoy a good slot machine combined with the rodeo finals, Mexico to attend Frankie and Lee’s wedding, and Phoenix for the adventures with her girls relaxing around the pool. Nothing meant more to Gloria than having her family around her, they were full of fun and special memories. She will be deeply missed. Gloria is survived by her loving family: husband Don of Big Valley; daughters: Cheryl (David) Lattery of Stettler and Frankie O’Hagan (Lee Depauw) of Red Deer; son Wayne (Susan) Saar of Big Valley; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Amber Lattery (Steve Powell) of Stettler, Nolan (Reanne) Lattery and their son Ryan of Stettler, Jordan (Terry) Milmine and their children Marcus, Isiah and Nyla of Stettler and Kayla (Dallas) White and their children Hudson and Payton of Red Deer; sister Evelyn (Ray) Mitten of Red Deer; sister in law Myrna Saar of Big Valley; brother in law Allan (Nora) Saar of Big Valley; numerous other family members and many dear friends.
