Obituary of Robert "Bob" Reid Woods
Robert Reid Woods “Bob” was born in Big Valley, Alberta to parents Adeline and Ezra Woods. He grew up with five brothers and a sister and attended school in Big Valley.
At the age of twenty one he met Melda Irene Stewart. On June 15th, 1956 they became husband and wife and together they had three children. They moved to Black Diamond in 1985 before moving to Red Deer, then returning to Big Valley and calling it home. Bob worked extensively in the oilfield and dedicated many of his years to Gulf. When he retired he decided to try his hand at small engine repairs, earned his certificate and started a small business. When he wasn’t working out in the garage, he was often doing what he loved most, packing up the trailer and heading out camping. He also thoroughly enjoyed boating, fishing, going to hockey games and lending a hand to anyone who needed it. He touched the hearts of many and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his loving family: wife Millie Woods of Big Valley; children: Len (Cindy) Woods of Red Deer, Brenda Woods of Big Valley, Ron (Cheryl) Woods of Stettler; 9 grandchildren: Brandi Woods of Red Deer, Ryan (Ashley) Woods of Red Deer, Joshua Woods of Red Deer, Catrina Dubitz of Big Valley, Nicholas Dubitz (Shea) of Big Valley, Chantel Dubitz (Stefan) of Big Valley, Dakota Wilson of Stettler, Kyler Wilson (Liz) of Stettler and Kaleigh-Rae Wilson of Stettler; great grandson Jacob Robert Woods of Red Deer; beloved nieces, nephews, other family members and many dear friends.
