Obituary of Erwin Fredrick Rudolph Repp

Erwin Repp passed away on March 26, 2012 at the Stettler Health Care Centre. He was born on May 14, 1922 at Gross Nossin, Germany and moved to Canada in 1924, he has lived in the Stettler area all his life. Predeceased by his father Walter and his mother Luisa and his sister Hilda Holst. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years Rosemarie; his son Doug (Bev) Repp of Calgary; daughter Debbie Novak of Red Deer; grandchildren: Tara (Rayall) Bebee of Thorsby, Warren (Vicki) Repp of Stettler and Tannis (Scott) Assmus of Calmar; 5 great grandchildren; sister Dora Sharpe of Stettler; brother in law John Wittwer of Stettler; sisters in law Marguerite Baugh of Stettler, Hattie Meyers of Calgary and Linda Therou of Seattle, WA; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Erwin farmed for most of his life in the Pilot Knob district until his retirement in 1992 when they moved into the town of Stettler. However, Erwin was probably better known for his musical talent. You could hear him playing at country dances, festivals, at the Old Time Country Music Jamboree that he put on for 20 years with sold out crowds and for the last twelve years playing once a month at the senior’s lodges in Stettler. Erwin’s love of music touched many people and in turn made many new friendships. He will be sadly missed by all that he has known.
